With assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Federal Republic of Brazil the delegation of representatives of SE SSFTIF “Ukrinmash” and the enterprises of Defense industry of Ukraine which make part of the SC “Ukroboronprom“ visited the city of Rio de Janeiro on 27-30 November 2017.
The members of the delegation had a number of important meetings with representatives of the Command of Naval Forces of Brazil and the Managers of the National Program of building corvettes of “Tamandare” type.
In course of the negotiations, the Brazilian part was informed about large capabilities of the ship building enterprises of Ukraine as well as of ample scientific, and design capabilities of enterprises of Defense industry of Ukraine, which can be offered within implementation of the corvettes of “Tamandare” type.
The Ukrainian delegation also visited several ship-building facilities in Brazil. During the visit, the members of the delegation had an opportunity to familiarize with the capabilities of the enterprises as well as to exchange of experience with their Brazilian counterparts, which makes a solid ground for strengthening technical cooperation.
In conclusion, the parties made a decision to continue the extension of bilateral cooperation and partnership between Ukraine and Brazil in the field of shipbuilding. The representatives of the Command of Naval Forces of Brazil said for certain on the importance of participation of Ukrainian enterprises in National Program of building corvettes of “Tamandare” type.
Currently, SE SSFTIF “Ukrinmash” together with enterprises of Defence industry of Ukraine is initiating huge works for participating in the Tender, which is expected to be opened in the first quarter of 2018. Therefore, SE SSFTIF “Ukrinmash” is ready to be a fitting competitor to other participants.
